Off-Road Racing video games?
I'm looking for an off-road racing video game that features long point-to-point races. Kinda like Baja Edge of Control but with multiplayer (Baja's servers are down forever). It can be rally or raid too.

The only way Ive found lately is to race Dirt 2, but the races aren't Terrible long compared to Baja: EOC.
I wish someone would come out with something like Dirt vehicles and driveability but with TORC, LOORS, Dakar, Score/BITD all in one. I know it's a likely to not happen though.

Yeah... I wished someone came up with a game that mixed DiRT's physics and graphics with Baja: EOC's vehicles and tracks; plus some real scenarios, start the Baja 1000 in Ensenada and make the start line identical to the real one, it wouldn't be that hard. That would be the best off-road game ever!

I agree but I think both the Baja games failed in huge in developers eye, so that puts huge stink on things. I know codemaster's has some qerks but they are ahead of anyone else by long shot in this category. I just think marked is too small or we can't actually get someone to push the issue who might can get them to look at it. They already have a good bases w vehicles and some tracks to get things rolling (Dirt had short course, 2 had raid and TT/class 1 w Baja tracks)

Yeah, as you said, the market might be too small for anyone to care. Let's face it, developers want money and they are not going to make a lot out of a game only a few will get. Unless, they make a huge marketing campaign, and advertise the game by many different means; if they did, it would have to be a worldwide campaign because there are some people in other countries who are into off-road racing. The campaign would have to be specifically targeted to off-road enthusiasts, so for example Race Dezert would be a great mean to advertise it, all you need is an ad in this website and I'm sure almost everybody here would get it and tell their friends about it. But, developers could also try introduce new people to it, not only off-road enthusiasts. If you show people that the game is good, very good, fun and worth getting, they might give it a try; so again, they would need a lot of people talking about it, just like they do with well known first person shooters.
Bottom line is that it involves a lot of hard work, and I'm not a marketing expert or anything so I don't really know about that, but I'm sure that if you put together a good team of marketers you can make a good off-road racing game successful. Also, it is very important that whoever made such game should rely on people who know A WHOLE LOT about off-road racing; racing teams, organizations, promoters, etc.

I've been thinking, maybe we could organize a Baja series on the XBOX360... I would need your help though because I don't have a XBOX and I don't think I can get one anytime soon

Re: Off-Road Racing video games?
I was thinking we could do a SCORE,BITD,HDRA and CODE SERIES. Each Series lasting 3 months with prizes for top 3. SCORE series we could start with Laughlin with 2 10 lap races,San Felipe 250,baja 500, Primm and last but not least THE BAJA 1000. Let me know what you think about my idea !
