Re: Class 7200 Engines
The Nissan VQ35 and VQ37 are very light, 300+ HP stock, and cheap to buy....

I would not quite call 250and hp to the tire killing a 4.5 on the Danzio dyno Caspinos put 334 hp and 311I torque with no underdrive. But it is not cheap.

Sorry wasnt refering to the HP numbers. I was refering to the whole motor dying out because of expense and lack of new parts.

Re: Class 7200 Engines
Valve Train don't like the revs. Had a discussion with warren Johnson about the cady motor. He said no do. It won't last. Thus this is why backusis changing over to a race motor like configuration.

Re: Class 7200 Engines
anyone successful on a built toyota 3.4? I like em better then 4.0s. dont know why besides $
for cost I think its still a good option for someone who isnt going for a bitd championship or anything crazy yet.
we are just looking for something that will run hard all day so we can get the camino out there and testing.
I always wondered why there was no LS series V6 motors
Seems like a 4.3 should still be a decent platform in the right builders hands.

Re: Class 7200 Engines
We built a very reliable and pretty strong 3.4 on the racing 905 class 7 truck, mild cams, sds management system, and a few small mods, the engine is going strong and works very well for not being an all out race engine. It is under powered when compared to other v6 race engines.

Re: Class 7200 Engines
We we're talking about this the other day Pete, the Toyota 4.0 having good top end, the Chevy 4.3 having better torque, but I'm curious to see some numbers on the Ford Mustang 3.7 after a little bit of help (headers, intake components, maybe computer work, etc).

On dezertrangers Jerry Larimore post that made 229 Hp to the tires, thats with a build TH400 tranny, TT Rear end, with 37 tires.
