Jackpot 200 Results!!!
B.O.R.E. held it's second Race of the season on Saturday July 3rd in Jackpot, NV.
6 cars showed up to compete in Class 9 on the 35 mile corse.
Brett North was first off the line, the first race for his new car. Dave Sams started second, in a car he bought two weeks before the race. Dave is new to Class 9 moving up from the truck ranks. Third to start was Dave Morse. Bill Bass started forth. Fifth to start was Cameron Blackley. And the last to start was the car driven by Dean Blakely.
Lap 1 had Dave Morse coming in 1st on the track, but in 2nd place on time. Cameron Blackley came through the Start/Finish next, in 1st, 26 sec. ahead of Dave on time. The 3rd car through was Dave Sams, 1 min. 36 sec. behind Dave Morse on time. Bill Bass was 4th another 33 sec. back. 5th belonged to Dean Blakely, only 1 min. 57 sec. behind Bass. 1st thru 5th were only seperated by 4 min. 32 sec. Brett North only made it to check 1 before distributor problems put him out of the race.
Lap 2 had Dave Morse still the 1st car through Start/Finish, but now first on time also. Dave Sams was now in 2nd, just under 2 min. back. 3rd was Bill Bass, a little over 2 min behind Sams. And Dean Blakely in 4th, only 1 min behind Bass. Cameron was a no show having broken a spindle 4 miles from the Start/Finish.
Lap 3 still had Dave Morse in 1st. Dave Sams still in 2nd, but droping back to 6 min. behind. 3rd was Bill Bass now only 20 sec. behind Sams. 6 min. later the 4th car came through which was Cameron Blackley finishing his 2nd lap after replacing the right front spindle. And Dean Blakley never finished his 3rd lap dur to engine troubles, a possible broken rod.
Lap 4 again had Dave Morse in front, but not for long as he was now driving his new low rider having broken the center section of the rear torsion housing, ending his day. Dave Sams was still holding on to 2nd, only 1 min. 28 sec. down. Bill Bass was still in 3rd, but now down a little over 3 min. to Sams. Cameron came through 4 min. after Bass to Finish his 3rd lap.
Lap 5 had a change in the lead, with Bill Bass first in to the Start/Finish, but that's where his day would end, as the car would have to be pushed to his pits. Bill thought he may have broken an axel. Cameron Blackley came through next to finish his 4th lap. Dave Sams came through in 2nd, 25 min. after Bass, seams he ran out of gas around mile 28 and had to wait for his crew to bring some gas out to him. Cameron then came through again to finish his 5th lap.
Lap 6 had Dave Sams coming in for the Win. He ran a very good race for his first time in a 9 car. 2nd went to Cameron Blackley, finishing 27 min. 26 sec. behind Sams. Having been down more than an hour at one point. Cameron was also the last official finisher of the Race.
