Do they even sell standard cab trucks anymore for non commercial use? I don't think I have ever seen one at a dealership that wasn't a commercial truck.

So what would be involved in getting one of those spectacular four real door Rangers we've seen running around Mexico up here???

If it has to be retrofitted with CA smog devices, combine that with a pretty hefty import tax (I would assume) I'd probly pay a pretty shiny penny for it!!
However, I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one that would show interest in owning one. I'm gonna try google or something...lol

I'm petty sure it doesn't have any smog equipment. Unless I'm mistaken mexico doesn't have smog laws

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any smog equipment. Unless I'm mistaken Mexico and pretty much every other country doesn't require smog equipment, which is why every car outside of the states get so much better gas mileage.

when i was in hermosillo, i saw a bunch of 4 door rangers. usually the concern is getting vehicles into mexico, not out of it..it would be fairly easy sticking a junk yard compliant 4.0 into one wouldn't it? they would be great prerunners and there aren't any out there that i've seen. do they come with diesels too in mexico gus?

Re: The last U.S Ford Ranger was built today.
the topic was brought up in a site called the ranger station. i guess the problem is that they're not dot approved because of something to do with the A pillar not being stout enough to pass gubment tech to register it here. it's not just a smog issue...it's that they're weak sauce if you get broadsided. make a pretty cool lookin' race truck though in my opinion.
