This is total Bull Sh-it IMO. Your kidding right. Aren't you in the hunt for rookie of the year and running up front just like Garrit Wallace was? Am I the only one that thinks that if nothing else the rookie of the year and a front runner in the prolite class should be able to find funding to continue up the ladder? This is exactly what I'm talking about in the what if thread going on right now. Quote:

I will tell you what should happen is the promoters should take a long hard look at how they are promoting this sport and make the necessary changes to correct what is wrong. DP

I heard TORC wants to make Pro-Lites run a crate V8 with an automatic...
I really hope this is not the case. I have always been of the mindset that "real" racecars run a manual gearbox. I love the feeling of being connected to the vehicle that you get with it, not to mention the vast tuning options you get with gearing. As far as the sponsorship/exposure debate goes, that's a whole other can of worms. Too many classes, not enough sponsors, not enough exposure. I like the idea that Steve Naughton has brought up a hundred times before of dropping Pro-4. As killer as the trucks are, it dilutes the possible field that we could have if there was only Pro-2 and Pro-Lite. Pro-2 could then be the premier class, Pro-Lite the entry pro class. Picture the additional exposure that could be had if the TV slots only covered the 2 classes. More exposure=more opportunity for sponsor dollars. |

well thats disapointing you guys ran a first class operation all year the best in pro lites that i could tell. you have been consistently at the top all year and without a few malfuntions would not only be rookie of the year but would be in the overall title hunt and leroy is the most improved driver in the class i think and was running close to the leaders till he spun out in az. makes me wonder again if i should jump into this class next year. at this rate it could be racing with jethro and my cousin bobby..... lol
any thoughts from use guys??? |

Come on guys am I stupid for thinking about putting my lifesavings into a truck and series that isn't producing sponsers and I've been told it cost min 10k per race weekend.... The crate motor and trainy might be the only way I can afford it. Seems like if u run a nice program it'd cost almost as much as a pro-2??

Unless some changes are made I don't think it really matters if it's Pro-2 or Pro-lite at this point.
The Pro-2 guys started with more money to begin with it's all relative. If you are serious about taking your life savings and throwing it down for the fun factor alone then do it, otherwise put it in your safe and hold your cards for a bit longer. DP
