So on the BITD site its lists an underpass as 7 ft high, and 8 ft wide

They say absolutely no slack in the 7ft tall part, is there a little, little, bit extra on the 8ft part?

Anyone measure it or been concerned in the past?

Is that on the race course notes or is it on the chase notes?

I have been through most of the underpasses that Casey has used over the years and if he says its 7ft, its 7ft. If your 7ft1inch better let some air out of your tires.

I get the 7ft tall part, is 8ft wide "it", or is "it" a little bigger/smaller?

I have walked thru that underpass before, it is 7' high only. As far as width, there are scrapes down each side of it. I don't recall it being +/- 1" on either side of the 8'. It is pretty narrow.

I would get the answer from the source, call BITD.

I do not even know what underpass they are talking about, must not be one that we have used the last two years, as I would think there would have been the same type of warning about it.

I called and they said 8ft, but didn't know exactly (exactly on the 7ft ceiling) --I guess that is what the pre-run is for..gotta pack my measuring tape
and figure out if I can go thru at an angle, like when a canyon is too narrow for a regular hummer.

speaking of Pre-Run--I think almost every hotel room in Town is already gone Aug 2nd

Check out the video "In Dust WE Trust" and there is a part of the tunnel with the #12 TT going through. Trust me it looks pretty close

The underpass I'm thinking of is south of Goldfield, where the course crosses under Hiway 95. It is before the Highway goes up through Goldfield Pass.... I'll have to get my notes out tonight for exact mileposts... YES it is NARROW and SHORT !
