So, what is happening, if anything ? I heard Johnny K. Has been working on a Batmobile for the industry, not a Dakar vehicle lately. That isn't much information, and nothing to hang your hat on, but who knows what ?
Aside from rumors on here, obliquely referenced, does anybody have any semi-reliable information as to what RG might be building or has built for the next DAKAR ? I'm all for secrecy and a competitive advantage...
But a couple of crumbs of information would be nice.
Just a " He's definitely in " , from a reliable source would be good.
    A stretched SST ?
    A new Buggy ?
A Meyers Manx painted orange ?
A carbon fibre Hay Hauler ? With a big Ed 'Big Daddy- Rat Fink' Roth blower towering out of the hood and
A skull shift knob out of the roof ?
(With a restrictor on the bug catcher the size of a quarter .)

He did sell his ride (Hum-buggy) to some dude from middle east, that included the support trucks as well. So, he maybe going down for support??

I thought that a Belgium Team actually made the purchase, and had then leased them out for the season in the Middle East.
RG went over and gave lessons. I think that is right.

Based on recent trends, with RG and others, it is common for a " chalk " drawing of the profile of the race vehicle to
Be part of the team's logo. He has done it for both the TT and the Hummer. I don't suppose there are any photos of the support trucks before they left ? I wonder if they have the sketched Vehicle profile on the sides, as in years past ?
Probably not, just have to wait and see....

Thanks- I had completely forgotten about Planet Robby- I don't think I have looked at it since the last Dakar.
The HEMI -5.7 Liter badge on the front fender might mean nothing. If it is a support truck, could the body be based on a Jeep SUV ? One poster on the Planet said the LS7 power plant
Remains, and the HEMI badge is on a Dodge Pick up, left over from the Cup days. Maybe. RG has marketing savvy, and I would expect the support trucks to match the corporate brand of the race vehicle. The power plant not being a Dodge, well, it wouldn't be the first time an open
Class car had an engine that had nothing to do with the wrapper ( right, AGM ? ).
I would not be surprised to see a slick Jeep body mounted on the next evolution of the
Humbuggy Chassis. Better aerodynamics than the Hummer (maybe), but the same proven approach to the chassis, with improvements, based on the experience of the last few years
Built in. I don't think that I'd start all over with a clean sheet of paper, when he has come so
Close with the Hummbuggy. Of course, what I would do, and what RG will do have nothing to do with each other.

Yeah- I don't think one Dodge pick up is indicative of anything...
Back to waiting to see what is in the Box.

yeah it is..funny that in SCORE, they won't let you carry an extra jerry can for fuel and at dakar and other fia raids, they MAKE you carry an extra gas can and 1 for water as well...when dakar was in africa, guys got lost for days and carrying extra fuel and water was huge..ronn bailey comes to mind getting hopelessly lost in the middle of nowhere for quite some time..even one of the wealthiest guys on the planet needs a drink of water every now and then.
