Doug Sutton started a group at Ning for Canadian off road racers at http://canadianoffroad.ning.com/

Doug was one of the forefathers of off road racing in Ontario. He ran the first series for years, and raced many races in the states and Mexico, including the 69 Baja 1000. Every few days Doug posts some new photos at the site above. Here is a few that Doug and other members have posted of racing in the states. There is tons of 70's pictures from Canada as well.

GOOBER RACE......are they still running that at Crandon? The year I went there were liquor bottles flying out of cars! It was nuts! If I remember right they let as many cars in that wanted to run....off-road demolition derby at it's best!

Here are a few pics from what's left of my Off Road file.... For all you two wheel fans...or one!!!

Crashing my Hodaka at the "Pepper Tree" off Willow Glen road in Fallbrook, CA.
They used to stage a 26 mile race from that spot... Jimmy Hazelwood won every year on his Kawasaki 120. I was one of the first to come out with a 2 stroke.... Most of the bikes at that time were British "Thumpers" .... 500cc AJS, Triumph, BSA, etc..

Racing the Maico 250!!! I believe that track was in Irvine behind El Toro AFB???

One of the first bikes to have cantilevered shocks (laid down) for a full 12" of rear travel... Done by Cooper Motors of Long Beach....

Carlin Yokum of Fallbrook, CA. testing his "Honda Trail 90" Unicycle.... You had to lean wwwaaaaaayyyyy back when you hit the brakes... I rode it... You didn't steer it...You just thought about where you wanted to go and it went there... it was wierd!!! But very fun to ride...!!!
