I have been looking all over the internet for a list of the top 10 most famous auto races in the world and I have not found one. I did find the top 10 most dangerous and the Baja 1000 was #7, Dakar was #1. So if anyone knows where this list is please post it or if you have your own list please post it! I just want to know where the Baja 1000 stacks up. Here's mine! Thanks!

1- Monaco GP - has to be the most famous race in the world.
    2- Indianapolis 500 - A close second.
3- The 24 hours of Le Mans
    4- Daytona 500
    5- The Dakar Rally
    6- The Baja 1000
7- The German GP at Nürburgring
8- World Rally Championship? - What event?
9- The Long Beach Grand Prix (when it was an F1 race)
10- La Carrera Panamerica or The cannonball run?

    and Pikes Peak

both events definitely hold a place on the list somewhere because they are truly unique and at the top tier of motor sports accomplishments.

Somewhere in there could be the Daytona 24 or the Sebring 12 hour...........Imola F-1 is a pretty big deal too, especially if you like the Prancing Horse..........Hummm........so many cool races and only so much time and money........

Isle of Man TT should be on the list for sure, car or no car that race is AWESOME!

Please make a list of top 10 races. I want to know where you think the Baja 1000 would fall in the top 10, if at all. Consider if an event is known world wide. If drivers from other disciplines come to compete in that event and what makes that event so special? What I'm after is a perfect drivers resume. If you could win 10 races in the world what would they be?

I agree the indy 500 of old should be in the top ten, but def not #1, your thinking is limited IMO. 24 lemans should be #1
