Who are your picks for the Baja 1000? Super tricky technical and brutal course. Hard to chase and hard to race.

Here are few of my pics that I think will be battling for the overall.

    MacCachren + McMillin
This almost isn't fair. It's like Chuck Norris and Anderson Silva on the same team!

    Menzies + Jones
Bryce is solid in Baja with two Baja 500 wins. Jones is capable when he is in game mode, but after his big crash in Primm we he be able to focus?

    Tavo + Gus Vildosila
When you are racing on your home turf and your country is cheering for you it makes for some serious motivation.

    BJ Baldwin
Maybe we will see another amazing ironman performance from BJ? Be curious to see if he will let someone drive with him.

    Robby Gordon
Basically Robby is like superman in a car, he is always a threat for the overall. Let's see if he can shut of SST and Dakar to focus on a win. Let's see who he names to split driving duties.

    Justin Matney + Ricky Johnson
Matney has been steadily creeping up the ranks. With RJ splitting duties with him this is the sleeper team that could take advantage of any drama during race day, and their is always drama.

    Cameron Steele
The official Ambassador of off-road, Cam's advantage is he spends more time in Baja than the locals! Due to the technical nature of this years course Cam could be an overall contender. Who will split duties with cam?

    The Herbst
Always a threat, the herbst have a won more Baja races than I can even remember. Especially if they have Larry Roeseler and Ryan Arciero driving with them.

    Dan McMillin
Dan has been steadily finishing top 5. He is pretty methodical and has overwatch from his dad Off-road legend Mark Mcmillin, as well as fantastic chase support. He is another stalker that will take advantage of any drama like bottle necks, route changes, etc. Will Luke split diving duties with him?

Who are your pics and why?

Mark and Gary Wehyrich are another team that could win.

Dan , Luke , and Chuck Hovey are in the #23

Rob Mac and Andy Mac teaming up has to be the team to beat. The real question, who will the Baja beat this year? This is going to be a tough course.

RG of course . Robby has done a lot more winning since he dropped the stupid NASCRAP stuff and came back home where he belongs . THE OFFROAD WORLD . As for you mentioning Cam Steele , it'd be cool to see him team up with Heidi . If I'm correct wouldn't that make them the 1st husband wife duo to race the 1000 ?

No Idea. I have never known him not to solo a race. He's the new Ironman.

Did Vanderway's build a new truck? Saw something about that on Curt's Instagram feed.

It depends on start positions and downtime but all things being equal I like RG with a close second to BJ Baldwin. I can't see anybody else co driving with these two. Rob M and Andy M. will have there shot. Who will step up?

At the short course race a few months ago -- I don't believe it will have any effect on his (& Bryces) Baja 1000 campaign what-so-ever though --- 'apple and oranges'
