Bitter cold, high winds, hail, rain and snow fell upon the BITD Henderson 250 race. Racers braved the weather for the final race of the year where championships would be decided (this race is a double points race), and bragging rights would be secured until the 2014 season. Hours from the final Best in the Desert race of the 2013 series, racers rolled through tech inspection one last time in preparation for a 250 mile sprint for potential championships on the line. Top qualifier Justin Lofton, Jerry Welchell, Jason Voss and Harley Letner talk about race day conditions and what it would mean to win the Henderson 250. One Battle Left for 2013 Best in the Desert Series
After an entire day of technical inspection and contingency, racers received one final pre-race "BOOYAH" from Best in the Desert Race Director Casey Folks in the 2013 race season. The Henderson 250 is a race to decide champions with many season championships still up for grabs. A total of 178 racers, spread across three races, will take tomorrows green flag. Motorcycles, quads and UTV's will make up the first race that starts at 6:15am. Best in the Desert's final race of the 2013 season is now underway after time trials today at Apex Road. General Tire's Justin Lofton was the fastest qualifier, with a time nine seconds faster than Jason Voss. Second fastest trick truck was Rob MacCachren, who will start third behind Lofton and Voss, who are both fighting for a BITD Championship. Justin Lofton Locks in Top Spot at Henderson 250 Time Trials
The last BITD race of the season is upon us and today 30 unlimited vehicles braved the cold weather to see who would start first for the BITD Henderson 250. Justin Lofton would make a statement putting 9 seconds on Jason Voss to claim the poll position. Behind Voss was hometown hero Rob MacCachren followed by CJ Hutchins and Harley Letner.
