Spectacular power show on four and two wheels. From Power Trucks and high-tech World Rally Car through to electro bikes – it’s all here.
European Open: US stars face European and international champions as well as national champs from Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Norway, Italy and Austria.
The BAJA 300 POWERDAYS Germany (24 – 26 July) is turning into a world summit of offoad racing: No sooner had the American and European drift aces entered, when the top star from the Middle East also confirmed his participation. Dakar virtuoso and current points’ leader in the Production Car World Rally Championship, Nasser Al-Attiyah, travels to Germany to contest the most spectacular offroad event of the year. Reason enough for Germany’s largest private TV station, RTL, to broadcast the BAJA 300 POWERDAYS Germany as part of the Hungarian Grand Prix coverage on Sunday, 26th July, from 12.30 pm.
Adding to the impressive entry list, alongside the multiple Middle East, Marathon World Cup Champion and Production Car World Rally Champion 2006, Nasser Al-Attiyah, is also the reigning world champion of the production-based class, Andreas Aigner from Austria. Aigner promptly snatched position three at his first ever Baja event on the first weekend in June at the wheel of a 640 hp “Unlimited” Buggy in the SCORE Series, and showed his colleagues from the US what awaits them at the European event.
Great news as well for fans from Poland and the Czech Republic at the BAJA 300 POWERDAYS Germany: Multiple Polish champion Leszek Kuzaj joins forces with “Team Europe” in a special Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia. From the Czech Republic comes rally ace Roman Kresta bringing the very latest Peugeot 207 Super 2000 to compete on the purpose-built 2.3 kilometre gravel circuit.
Six weeks before the green light to Europe’s unique offroad event, everything is set: The stars of rallying, including ex-world champion Petter Solberg, US champion and action star Ken Block, darling of the fans Gigi Galli as well as former European champion Armin Schwarz – as initiator of the Powerdays – come face to face at the BAJA 300 POWERDAYS Germany for the first time with the absolute pinnacle of US desert racing. Sal Fish, CEO/president of the SCORE International Offroad Series brings along his stars like Jesse James, B.J. Baldwin, Danny Sullivan, Gus Vildosola and Martin Christensen to Good Old Europe.
A star-studded line-up in the motorbike faction as well: Aside from the KTM works team with double Dakar winner Cyril Despres, motocross freestyler Petr Pilat as well as local hero and multiple German Champion in the World Enduro Championship, Markus Kehr, the factory squad from BMW Enduro and Husqvarna send their top pilots. Enduro champion Anders Eriksson from Sweden and his Danish teammate Andreas Lettenbichler both start with a works-run BMW G 450 X. Husqvarna Motorcycles sends the Italian Andrea Cervellin with his Husqvarna TC 250, as well as the French compatriot of Dakar ace Cyril Despres, Christophe Martin with a Husqvarna TC 450 to tackle the wild single trails in the Lausitz
When it comes to spectacular vehicles and bikes, the BAJA 300 POWERDAYS Germany offers yet another unparalleled show: From 850 hp Trophy Trucks and their 640 hp Buggy brothers from the US SCORE Series, to the torquey high-tech World Rally Cars and the lightweight Super 2000 Rally rockets through to motocross, freestyle and enduro bikes – everything that moves at race tempo is coming…
… and into the future as well: Joining the action is the electro dirtbike “Quantya Track”, giving a fascinating look into the future. The almost soundless, battery-powered, torquey, power-pack is certain to stun fans and insiders with its stunts at the BAJA 300 POWERDAYS Germany.
