CODE started their season this past weekend with the Casas Geo Gran Prix in the Laguna Salada desert right outside Mexicali.
Grand Prix means that there are two heats for each group. One in the morning and the next in the afternoon giving all racers a small break in between to fix what is broken on the cars. 3 Groups made each heat. Buggies in group one, trucks and class one in group 2, and VW bug shaped cars and class 9 in the 3rd group. The awards were held the same day at 6 pm.
The following day (Sunday) two groups of bikes and quads made for the 2 heats that day.
CODE is a Mexicali, Mexico based race promoter with races held in Northern Baja. Entry fees are reasonably low, the staff is friendly and the events are executed in a professional matter. Racing CODE is Off-Roads best kept secret that just a few north the border racers take advantage of.
We spend a short weekend in Mexicali for contingency on Friday night and to spectate some of the racing action on Saturday. Enjoy the photos.
The next CODE race will be the San Felipe 250, April 16-18
