Crandon’s turn 1 get’s a new view!

The most exciting turn in off-road racing has a new view for the upcoming 2012 race season. The Crandon International Off-Road Raceway has provided many years of great racing action and has always tried to improve the venue. This year Crandon created their biggest improvement to the facility by adding a new 1,046 seat grandstand located adjacent to Turn 1.
The Crandon crew put much thought about the comfort of the fans as they designed the grandstand. The 1,046 seat grandstand has stadium-style aluminum high back seats with a curved bottom seat. The structure is designed and constructed in Wisconsin with 100% U.S. materials. The high back seats are done in a powder coated blue, white and red design. The seats are big enough for fans to put a cooler underneath. The grandstand is a solid structure so fans wont have to worry about dropping items, such as cell phones to the ground. The Crandon crew planned longer terms with the designed by adding water lines underneath it for future use of items such possible food stand or even bathrooms. The Crandon crew broke ground for the new grandstand mid-March 2012 and was completed on June 5, 2012.
The 1,046 seat grandstand is approximately 100 by 50-foot. They are split into four-sections named after a famous racer who had been associated with Crandon but are no longer with us. They include: Chad Schleuter (Section 1), Farmer John Konitzer (Section 2), Rick Huseman (Section 3) and Jack Flannery (Section 4)
The dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new grandstand is Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
The Crandon International Raceway is pleased that Nissan has sponsored the grandstands.
