Dakar after Stage 3
Stage 3 of 14 is completed and for the Top American entrants things look mostly good.
Mark Miller placed himself in 5th place over all after stage 3 with only 5 Minutes 33 Seconds behind rival Peterhansel in a BMW X3 and feels optimistic to press on. No real challenges as of yet to report.
Robby Gordon is ranked 9th with a 1 Hour and 4 Minute gap to the race leader. His plan was to stay within a 10 Minute window is slightly off, but don’t count him out as a contender for the overall win.
Bj Baldwin, after an awesome start got himself stuck after a roll over crash on Stage2 to fall back 4 Hours and 36 Minutes. Todays Stage 3 shows him behind the main pack but he is expected to finish the Stage with an additional 6+Hours of downtime putting him back in the field with an approximate 11-12 hours behind the leader.
Jonah Street finished 8th overall in the Bikes class with only 18 Minutes 52 Seconds after the leader “Despres”. No major problems and he is clearly a contender for the win.
