Former BITD champion finishes strong at Terrible’s 250 At Primm

PRIMM, Nev. – Two races into the 2009 Best in the Desert Racing Association championship series and the top two drivers in Class 8100 find their rearview mirrors full of Randy Merritt and his Mongo Racing KC HiLiTES Ford F-150.
Following a strong third place finish in the Terrible’s 250 At Primm on April 18, Merritt’s Mongo Racing Team out of Parker, Ariz., has climbed into championship contention, or better put, into third place in the class standings.

Ok, so I had this brief conversation with BJ Baldwin about tire testing on Sunday March 29th after the Mint race.

On Thursday the 2nd he texted me to confirm everything was in place. I got on a plane at 6am and flew to Las Vegas to pre-run the sections that we’ll be testing in.

TERRIBLE’S 250 AT PRIMM OFFICIAL RESULTS

Las Vegas, NV April, 2009

211 cars, trucks and UTVs showed up to take on the challenging southern Nevada desert at the Best in the Desert’s Terrible’s 250 at Primm. Because Best in the Desert always puts safety first, and due to the 73 mile loop, the race was divided into two races to accommodate the different classes of vehicles. The first group for classes 1100, 2000, 3000, 5000, 8100, 7100, 4100, 3700, 7300, 3100,1700, 5100, 1800 and 1900 got under way at 6:00 am Saturday morning.
