KOENIG RACING
SCORES WITH A PAIR OF DEUCES
IN RENO
VORRA USA 500, Reno, Nevada -
The Koenig Racing rampage continues. They’ve now backed up their decisive Class T victory at the Yerington 300 with a stunning second place overall and second in class at the VORRA USA 500. Class 8 trucks, Class 7200 trucks, Class One buggies, they all saw the Koenig T-Ten stock V6 Tacoma flying past. Not a single flat on the Goodyear Wranglers. The Total Chaos bolt-on suspension swallowed every rock, rut and bump flawlessly. But it wasn’t a walk in the park.

Starting second in class, team owner Mike Koenig had the overall lead by
checkpoint one. At the first scheduled fuel stop, a minor glitch saw their lead slip away. Then the fuel pump started flicking off trying to keep up with the fire-breathing 4.0 motor. On the final lap another necessary fuel stop left them in 4th place overall. But co-driver Troy Robinson didn’t give up.

When the checkers appeared Koenig Racing had second overall, second in
class, just 5 minutes behind the overall winner. Koenig Racing would like to thank Mark Naugle, their own personal Weatherman relay guy, plus the hard-working Koenig crew and all of the Koenig Racing sponsors: Goodyear Tires, Total Chaos Fabrication, Currie Enterprises, Dezert People Films, King Shocks, Off Road Warehouse, Doug Thorley, Drift Innovation and Toyota T-Ten.
