Monster Energy’s Huseman sweeps the premier Pro 4 class at Arizona Lucas Oil race
Huseman goes 1-1 leading Monster racers contesting the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series at Speedworld in Surprise, Arizona
Monster Energy off-road racer Rick Huseman (Toyota) was perfect in the Pro 4 class this past weekend at rounds three and four of the 2010 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series at Speedworld in Surprise, Ariz., going 1st/1st in the two-day event and passing rival Scott Douglas for the overall points lead.
“The team had the truck dialed and we were able to get up front and stay away from any situations that could have taken us out,” said Huseman, who beat Kyle Leduc to the finish by more than three seconds on Saturday. “Good to see Monster representing up on top of the Pro 4 box both Saturday and Sunday on the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series.”
Also locking down a podium finish in the hotly-contested Pro 2 class (on Saturday) was Monster Energy’s Jeremy “Showtime” McGrath (Toyota). In one of his best races of the 2010 season, McGrath was just a couple seconds back of race winner Carl Renezeder at the checkers. “We made a good run at it on Saturday, pumped to be on the podium. Sunday didn’t go quite as well so we’ll have to re-group and get back after it at the next Lucas Oil round in Vegas.”
Note: McGrath left Sunday’s Pro 2 race on lap seven.
Monster’s Johnny Greaves was also running well, holding a ten-second lead on the rest of the Pro 4 field on Saturday when he suffered a flat tire, settling for 8th. On Sunday Greaves checked out of the contest on lap nine.
Lastly, Monster’s Casey Currie placed 6th on Saturday in the Pro Lite division in a truck he’d just purchased the week prior to Lucas’ Speedworld round, then slipped to 13th on Sunday.
