| The Rally4Life team are less than 8 months away from participating in the 2011 Dakar with Team Bowler Offroad and critical relationships are starting to fall into place for Canadian driver, Mark Jennings-Bates and UK riding legend Mick Extance. |
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HELIOS has developed unique and valuable techniques in the asset security and GPS tracking areas and are keen to work with Rally4Life to enhance their presentation to fans of both the race team and the charitable efforts in developing countries. “We are thrilled to be working alongside the Rally4Life team” said Martin Cronin, CEO of Helios, adding “The opportunity for us to present our services to such a large audience in the Dakar has tremendous value and the social side of the teams endeavours is intriguing to us as we look at the magnitude of the world’s water challenges, I am sure we can further enhance the teams ‘can do’ attitude”.
The Rally4Life team will once again be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (http://www.goodwood.co.uk/festival-of-speed/welcome.aspx) in the UK, July 2, 3 & 4 and will be piloting some of the new technology that they will be using in the Dakar during the event at the offroad demonstration area.
With interest building in their TV series the Race4Life being produced by Antares Media, the team is exploring relationships with well known personalities to look at the possibility of entering a second Bowler Nemesis with a unique appeal to fans. “There has been so much interest in the philanthropic work that we are doing that we decided it was worth exploring the ability of putting a well known personality into the seat of a Bowler Nemesis and give the fans a chance to engage more closely with our activities” stated Jennings-Bates, “we already have a commitment from a well known Canadian athlete who is doing tremendous work in the area of water crisis and engaging school children around the world.”
A new version of the teams website will be published in the next two weeks portraying the latest sponsor line up and adding some new features for fans and supporters.

About DAKAR:
The DAKAR began in 1977, when Thierry Sabine got lost on his motorbike in the Libyan desert during the Abidjan-Nice Rally. Saved from the sands in extremis, he returned to France promising himself he would share his fascination in this area with as many people as possible. He proceeded to come up with a route starting in Europe, continuing to Algiers and crossing Agadez before eventually finishing at Dakar. Due to political instability in Africa, the Dakar was run in South America in 2009, the first time the race took place outside of Europe and Africa.
Since then, the Paris-Dakar has never failed to challenge, surprise and excite. Over the course of almost thirty years, it has generated innumerable sporting and human stories. More information and previous DAKAR winners can be found at: www.dakar.com
