SCORE INTERNATIONAL CEO SAL FISH RECEIVES KEYS TO HUSSONG’S CANTINA IN LAS VEGAS
LAS VEGAS — On December 5, 2009, Sal Fish, CEO of SCORE International received the keys to Hussong’s Cantina Las Vegas, which will open this January at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place. Jeffery Marks, Executive Vice President of Titan Nightlife Group, Inc., the developer behind the Las Vegas venue, and Lui Hussong, the oldest son of Ricardo Hussong, the owner of Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada, were on hand to present Sal Fish the keys at the 2009 SCORE International Championship of Off-Road Racing Awards. Hussong’s also helped the winners of each class celebrate their victories by providing them with gift certificates for the Las Vegas outpost of the famed bar.
Located 50 miles south of Tijuana, Mexico, the iconic Hussong’s Cantina opened in 1892 and is considered a social hub of the Baja 1000 off-road race. Titan Nightlife is bringing that Baja atmosphere to Sin City with the opening of Hussong’s Cantina on the famed Las Vegas Strip.
“I have enjoyed Hussong’s in Ensenada ever since I took over SCORE International in 1973 from the late Mickey Thompson. I am truly excited that the off-road community will have a place to call their own in Las Vegas,” said Fish. “I am looking forward to the opening of this new and exciting restaurant.”
The 3,700-square-foot Vegas restaurant will savor all the charms of the original, right down to the façade, exterior signage and a replica of the rustic green and red bar. The food at Hussong’s Cantina will introduce Las Vegas locals and tourists alike to authentic Baja street fare along with signature cocktails and an impressive selection of tequila and Mexican beer.
SCORE International is an off-road sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing and is famous for its flagship event, the SCORE Tecate Baja 1000. SCORE International races are held in United States and Mexico. Founded by Mickey Thompson in 1973, SCORE continues today under the direction and leadership of Sal Fish.
Hussong’s Cantina will be open from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., seven days a week. Reservations can be made by calling 702.553.0123.
