STRONGHOLD MOTORSPORTS RETURNS HOME TO BATTLE AT LEGENDARY GLEN HELEN
Riverside, California (August 1, 2012) - The eyes of the off road racing world will be focused on Legendary Glen Helen Raceway this weekend as Stronghold Motorsports charges into their home track for Rounds 7&8 of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series competition. Located just a short distance from the Stronghold Motorsports Riverside, California headquarters. The teams’ annual visit to Glen Helen marks an opportunity to showcase their unique brand of high impact short course off road racing in front of what is projected to be a capacity crowd overflowing with the teams many family, friends, supporters and sponsors.

While the team’s most known superstars, seven time supercross champion, Jeremy McGrath and XGames medalist and action sports icon, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg are expected to draw a throng of spectators to the Stronghold compound, Riverside based nineteen year old off road racing prodigy, RJ Anderson, is rapidly ascending to the ranks of the short course off road elite as he has taken control of the ProLite class standings. Having earned an impressive four victories in the first eight rounds of racing, Anderson has been steadfast in his determination to capture the season title. While victory eluded him in Rounds 7&8 at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park, Anderson faced adversity head on and captured his sixth podium of the season along with valuable championship points to extend his class leading total.

In preparation of the upcoming event, Anderson, ProLite teammate, Matt Cook along with Stenberg and McGrath took advantage of Glen Helen’s close proximity for valuable practice and testing time allowing them to find what the team believes will be the correct set up to take on the unique conditions at Glen Helen. ”This being our first night race of the season poses special challenges when it comes to setting up the truck for that perfect combination of traction on the straight-a-ways and speed through the bumps,” said McGrath who currently holds fifth place in marquis Pro2 truck class standings. “Glen Helen is very special to this team and with what we were able to achieve during testing, I think we are going to have a great showing in front of our home crowd.” Along with McGrath, Stenberg, the 2010 SuperLite champion, will also be looking for his first podium of 2012 as he fights to improve upon his ninth place position in the intensely competitive Pro2 division.
