Riverside, California (September 19, 2012) – Stronghold Motorsports is storming into Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend for Rounds 13&14 of Lucas Oil Off Road Series competition and while 19 year old off road racing prodigy, RJ Anderson, maintains a stranglehold on the ProLite division, seven time supercross champion Jeremy McGrath has quietly inserted himself into the Pro2 class championship picture.
Earning back to back podiums in Rounds 11&12 at Reno’s Wild West Motorsports Park gave Anderson a class leading eight trophies on the season while allowing him to maintain his commanding lead in the largest field in all of short course off road racing. Entering the home stretch of the 2012 season, Anderson, who has been on top of the class standings throughout the season, now will have the opportunity to clinch the ProLite championship in Las Vegas heading towards the season finale at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix.

Having taken four wins on the season in pursuit of his first ProLite title, Anderson has clearly been a central figure in the class and while he has a target on his back entering these upcoming rounds, McGrath’s steady climb through the Pro2 rankings has been the result of his consistency throughout the season. After taking a tenth round, second place at Glen Helen, McGrath earned a pair of top five finishes in Rounds 11&12. Now, returning to the Las Vegas track where he came home with a victory last season, all eyes will be on the supercross champion turned short course off road star as he makes his final stand to take home the Pro2 title.

Although early season mechanical challenges have all but prevented 2010 ProBuggy champion, Cameron Steele, from challenging for the class title, his resolve to bring home the hardware netted a pair of podium finishes in Rounds 11&12. Having been on the podium in the last three consecutive rounds of racing to bring his season tally to five, Steele is certain to be in the mix as he fights for victory in Las Vegas.

As his top ten position in the current season rankings will attest to, action sports icon, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg has been impressive in his first full season of Pro2 competition. While just three rounds of racing remain on the schedule, the 2010 SuperLite champion, will be coming to Las Vegas intent on capping off his season with a trip to victory lane.

Garrett Poelman’s first career trip to the podium last month in Reno was the culmination of his season long dedication to developing his skills in the tightly regulated SuperLite spec class. Having experienced the satisfaction of receiving his eleventh round trophy, Poelman will be fixated on his return to the box while teammate and Las Vegas native, Larry Job seeks to make his first podium visit in front of his hometown crowd as he seeks to advance from sixth in the ProBuggy rankings.
