The Desert Assassins claim multiple SCORE titles and Baja 1000 victories – Heidi Steele claims her 4th championship and 2nd Baja 1000 win.

The most prominent race on the off-road racing calendar and the longest continuous desert race in the world took place this past Friday the 20th of November 2009. Each year SCORE International hosts the Grand Daddy of all off-road competitions on the Baja Peninsula and the Desert Assassins fielded six teams, four of them with a chance at individual class championships.

Desert Assassins come out swinging at SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge

With a fresh season and a clean slate the Desert Assassins team took the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge by storm. Held on the banks of the Colorado River in a two-day format the event marks the start of the five race series that culminates in the Baja 1000 in November.

The DA has won many awards and championships over the last few years and in 2009 they are off to a quick start. DA drivers hold down 3 of the top 5 places in the early 2009 SCORE Desert Series Overall points standings. Read more
