The first weekend for LOORRS is now in the books, and I think everyone would agree that it was a great success. The turnout was great, the racing was epic, and there were some great battles all weekend.

Here are some photos from todays racing action. The new track at LVMS is proving to be a challenging one as a lot of racers came away with a DNF. As I’m writing this thunder is roaring in the background, and rain is hitting the ground. Tomorrow will be interesting if the rain decides to hit!

Off Road Stars and New Venues Shine with The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Inaugural Year – Four Rounds Remain

April 4^th marked the first event of the inaugural season of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in Primm, Nevada. While the off season developments that saw the series emerge with the support of Lucas Oil were now in the rear view mirror, the Primm event marked the beginning of a new chapter in short course off road racing. The teams that comprised the Lucas Oil Off Road Series were now focused on a new season with the opportunity to face old rivals, develop new ones and look towards the season with the optimism that comes before the first race of each year.

Robby Woods runs fastest lap and hangs with the front runners at Lucas Oil Off-Road Series in Lake Elsinore, CA

Robby Woods charged the field at the Lucas Off-Road Racing Series Round 5+6, at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex managing not only to challenge the front of the pack, but to run the three fastest laps of the weekend. The young upstart has already been on the podium this year managing to battle his way to a 2nd place finish at the Surprize, AZ race. Sporting new sponsorships from Lucas Oil’s Slick Mist and General Tire, Robby came out swinging finishing 5th on Saturday and breaking on Sunday while in 2nd place.

Team General Tire Wins at Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore, CA – (June 30, 2009) — Team General Tire added additional wins to the record-books for the 2009 short-course racing season, as Carl Renezeder swept the series again, scoring a combined Unlimited 2 and Unlimited Open class wins at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series event this past weekend at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex. Lake Elsinore, California (June 28, 2009) Braving triple digit heat of the Lake Elsinore valley, San Diego’s Todd Cuffaro earned a solid 2nd place finish among a full field of Unlimited Lite trucks at the KALGAARD Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex this past weekend.

Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2009 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series rounds kicked off with the fireworks for the ROCKSTAR/Metal Mulisha Off Road Race Team as “The General,” Brian Deegan, Cuffaro’s teammate, scored an impressive victory on Saturday afternoon in Round 5. Read more
