Minneapolis, August 14, 2009 – Labor Day Weekend usually means rest, relaxation and a long weekend. This race car has brought much success to Gordon and his team over the last year; it posted three top-10 and four top-15 finishes in the last five restrictor-plate races. SCORE San Felipe 250 story and pictures
In order to win you need to have a plan and a flawless day. Sounds simple but not everybody was able to stick to such a simple formula. Brian Collins (Trophy Truck #12) however did exactly that. He had no flats and never got tempted to steer away from his race plan. “… I put a plan together, being patient, and I told Billy (my co-driver) that’s what we were going to do and he monitored my speed all the time down the real rough sections so we didn’t have a flat or hurt our shocks and we just had a great day. It’s nice when you put a plan together and it works.” said Brian after his win at the finish line. “I told people I was going to go slow off the start and no one ever believes you. I just drove my own race today and everyone came to me. That’s a lucky day of racing and I wish every one of them were that way.” Read more
