The young guns once again showed that they are a force to be reckoned with at Round 1 of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series. Not to be outdone veteran racers also shared spots up on the podium in front of a packed house at Firebird Raceway. While it was warm out, it didn’t keep the fans away who were given a great show by the racers in all classes.
Pro4
The three LeDucs were at the head of the pack to start the race and two of them wound up on the podium. Kyle LeDuc in the #99 Monster Energy Pro4 ran away with the race as he pretty much led the race from start to finish. The real battle was between the Todd LeDuc in the #7 Rockstar Energy truck and Adrian Cenni #11 as the two battled back and forth. Todd ran out of gas but managed to hold on to third, while Cenni who started back in the pack pulled off the second place finish.
The Pro4 reigning champ, Carl Renezeder #1, had some issues after start up front. It looked like Carl lost four-wheel drive. New this year is is the mandatory pit stop during the half way point caution. Unfortunately, the two and a half minute pit stop kills the momentum for the race and the extra time that it takes to get the drivers back into position probably led to Todd LeDuc running out of gas. Hopefully LOORRS gets this figured out soon.

2 11 ADRIAN CENNI
3 7 TODD LEDUC
4 43 CURT LEDUC
5 22 JOSH MERRELL
Pro Lite
The Pro Lite field was packed with past champions and a ton of newcomers for a total of 26 entries. The race was dominated by the young guns that came up from the UTV, SuperLite and Buggy classes. RJ Anderson had the lead for a good portion of the race, but threw away the podium when he spun out in a corner. Another new face, Bradley Morris, qualified fastest but found out how tough the Pro Lite division is when he crossed lines in front of Casey Currie and wound up barrel-rolling in front of the grandstands.
In the end Austin Kimbrell #88, finished first with Doug Mittag#81 second and Chad George #42 in third.

2 81 DOUG MITTAG
3 42 CHAD GEORGE
4 37 RJ ANDERSON
5 74 SHELDON CREED
Pro2
The Pro2 race was the cleanest race of the day, with very little banging and clean passes. Robby Woods #99 started at the front and held that position until the veteran, Marty Hart #15 in the new ReadyLift truck passed him just before the mandatory caution. From there Hart ran a clean race and ran away from the field. The wily veteran Rob MacCachren stalked Woods for several laps before making his move and passed him to take second place with Woods holding on to third.

Can Lucas Oil please do more updates and coverage of the pro buggy class. I know that trucks may be more popular because most of the drivers just smash into each other; However, with a field of 25 open wheel racers on the track, the pro buggy race was pretty exciting. It would be great to see Lucas Oil spend some time promoting the drivers of this class too because this is a drivers class and takes real talent to do it well.
Thank you
