Dumba$$ needs input on GPS vs Leadnav vs ???...

Howdy, I’ve done the last two NORRA’s on a bike and I use Leadnav but just for audio prompts. I have it on my iPhone carried in my backpack with a PowerBear auxiliary battery. I did not want to use one of my iPads for visual nav as, has been stated here, they crap out when overheated and...

Race radios in baja what are the rules

Wait to make sure the channel is clear before you transmit. And don’t go asking Weatherman for a status update of your car every 15 minutes.

    Fundraiser for injured MAG-7 volunteers

I can probably find some structural firefighting PPE. Not really pit crew PPE. Bigger and heavier. That work?

    Fundraiser for injured MAG-7 volunteers

RIP Fabian. Just donated as well. Two losses this year. Sad. What are you looking for in the way of PPE?

The reality around life-threatening medical assistance at BITD

No. Once you have the initial background you are on a DOJ pull notice. If nothing comes up between one renewal and the next, every two years, you pay just the renewal fee and no additional background check is conducted. Paramedics or EMT/P's are licensed. EMT basic or advanced are certified...

The reality around life-threatening medical assistance at BITD

EMT is a certification not a license. Not that it probably means didily as far as what we do in the dez. About six years ago California required new EMT's and recertifying EMT's to undergo a one time background check. I know some EMT's who lost their certification due to bad life choices years...

    V2R Quad/Vehicle Incident

I use a red light on my structure helmet as well. But that, as you say, is it reduces reflection off smoke particulates. But all we need here is something big and loud that shouts BIKE/QUAD AHEAD!!! to someone approaching from the rear.

    V2R Quad/Vehicle Incident

I like this reflective outterwear idea. Glad to see it worked for Mark. In the fire service we have to wear ANSI certified vests when working an incident on a highway. Even with all the flashing lights on all our apparatus it still gives the individual an extra level of protection. I think if we...

    V2R Quad/Vehicle Incident

I was sitting at the end of pit 14 all night long and my impression was that little mandated LED light was just not that noticeable. In dust I doubt it would even be seen by someone approaching from the rear until the last second.

    V2R Quad/Vehicle Incident

David, yep I know there are big challenges but as some have advocated completely separate courses I'm just throwing out an alternative. Now, just thinking out loud here, it seems one of the points of greatest danger is when the fast TT's first come up on the slower handlebars. Add in that the...
