What's a good offset for Toyota rims?

Thanks... I have a set of 7" rims with about 0.5" positive offset that fit the stock configuration. I didn't know if there was a good rule of thumb to follow or just hope it fits.

What's a good offset for Toyota rims?

What is a good all around offset for '86 Toyota rims (15x7 or 15x10, 6 on 5.5) to fit to most aftermarket front A-Arm kits. I'll most likely run 33x10.50x15 tires. I know a negative offset gives more room, but what is a good general number to run with? Also is there a preferred rim offest to...

Welding Toyota 8" Rear Axle 4 Link Mounts

Thanks, I'll probably make a jig as well as take my time and not let it get too hot. I was thinking I should put extra tack welds on all the link mounts and supports before laying the larger beads. Maybe weld a couple of braces on the cut them off later.

Welding Toyota 8" Rear Axle 4 Link Mounts

When welding link mounts and gussets on a stock axle, do I need to make a jig to keep the axle from warping or is this even a problem?

Using Toyota 8 inch axle for racing - questions

Yet again, another nice Toyota. That's exactly what I'm doing with an '86 except I'll probably keep the EFI although, I'm not opposed to getting a Weber setup like you mentioned. Thanks... Ken

Using Toyota 8 inch axle for racing - questions

Toyota axles are pretty tough. Pre '86 axles are smaller tube diameter and not as wide as '86 and after axles. An '86 axle is about 3" in diameter but still uses the same third member as the '85's. LC Engineering has axle gussets pretty cheap and should not be too bad in shipping. You could...

    MIG welding problems

I agree, I've seen a worn liner cause changes in wire speed and result in problems like this. Also, make sure there are no air currents blowing your sheilding gas out of the way. It might be trivial but, here's a list of common problems from the Lincoln Electric website...

Is a main hoop behind cab Legal???

I've seen some post on this and a few pics, but never really saw if it was legal to put the main hoop of a cage behind the cab. This would sure make a lot more room in a single cab. Any comments would be helpful... Thanks

    86 Toyota Cage Question

I've read the rule books and looked on the forums but can anyone tell me what is the best way to construct a B-Pillar is. I've seen one method that is in two halves that start at the frame and go up through the cab and joins the other half at the roof centerline where it is butt welded...
