    PTT SAT Phones

Ditto on teams running both. PTT Sat systems generally work well and can easily be integrated into intercom systems, but because they operate independently of the 2-way radio, there’s little reason to ditch the radio.

    God Speed Chris Carlisle

Does anyone have a PayPal address we can use to donate directly? Or, can anyone tell me how much GoFundMe takes so I can add to cover fees?

2016 Mikes Peak Hill Climb Challenge Is Going To Happen

Why an amazing event. I can't say enough good things about it and the people in attendance and working the event. It was a privilege to be a part of it all. This is not just another race. Something special, indeed and I can't wait for next year. Oh. And the SST's are INSANE on this course...

    Hydrate or die...

Agreed. My point is, the above is generally not a problem for off-roaders. It's the simple fact that they don't drink enough and/or they don't eat well or at all.

    Hydrate or die...

During my longest event, there was nothing but water for the first 12 hours. No food, no supplements of any kind... just water. We then had about 4 minutes to put all our shite down, cram whatever we could grab out of the chow bag into our mouths and get back into formation. After that it was...

    Hydrate or die...

Yup. Organic sugar is still sugar! It's funny. you hear so many opinions of what you should drink to stay hydrated... snake oils, sugary drinks, salty drinks, old-people drinks.... I've had the good fortune of doing a handful endurance events led by Special Forces combat veterans and they...

    Hydrate or die...

Great post. I've seen some damn tough people go downhill FAST due to dehydration. Drink a lot of water and drink it often. And the day before ain't gonna cut it. If you know ahead of time that you're going to be losing water fast, hydrate for an entire week prior. For endurance events, I...

    Helmet lights

I used my Zebralight in the 1000 last year. No used the regular head strap by opening up as big as it would go, wrapped it around the bottom of the helmet so the light was below the visor, just in front of my mouth. I used duct tape to keep it in place. Our entire section was after dark and it...

We need a Droogsma Device in offroad racing.

I never had to get out of the car, but I wore a reflective PT belt over my race suit. The same one I wear when running at night or early in the morning. It's no guarantee, but anything you can do to make yourself more visible is a good thing. We put a short, blue KC Hilites strobe light bar on...

    Class 11 Challenge

Having just co-driven in a Class 11 in the 1000 this year, I'd be willing to bet the majority of TT drivers would have an absolute blast doing this. We raced with 5 drivers and co-drivers and every one of them loved it, regardless of vehicle condition. By the time Greg and I got in at mile...
