  • Hey Troy - wanted to chime in on the 1600 vs UTV thing. Not sure how old you are, but the 1600 class is rough. And to be good you need to go fast. I have a single seat 1600 and I am 57. Am I as fast as the 20 year old guy, NOPE. Do I still have fun, YEP. Check the races in your area and see what the car counts look like for each class and then decide.

Rough on the body (for us older guys). Normally it takes a few days for me to get back to normal after a race. Neck usually sore. Competition is good. To be at the top in 1600 you run on the edge. The fast guys know where the edge is and it shows in their results.

Just remember the easy part is getting the car and prepping it. Hard part is finding a co-driver who is just as tough as you (or tougher) and friends who will sit in the desert for hours running your pit.

    WATCH:

Move slider ahead to 8:42 for the 1600 cars. You can see who is aggressive and who is not.
