    Introducing Project Frogger

I agree, I wish I could have continued with that plan but time and money prevented that, don't worry though because this will be just as cool

    Introducing Project Frogger

Well I got quite a bit done today. Doesn't look like much in the pics but it sure feels like a lot! I got the sub-frame welded in place, and welded in the back-half of the frame. The back-half will get some more support welded in where it meets the old frame rails as well as be built upon as...

    Introducing Project Frogger

Well I sure hope that this car won't be considered a "redneck hack job" haha. Some people might disagree but hey that is their problem.

    Introducing Project Frogger

Wow, it has been a while since I updated this thread. Since then I have done a lot of thinking, planning and rethinking and have made some decisions that are steps in the right direction I think. For some time I was back and forth between trying to squeeze four seats into the rig or just run...

    Introducing Project Frogger

Well my bug has taken a turn for a new direction. Several things have gone into making this decision but the biggest reasons are time and money. I have grown tired of this project sitting around until I have the money to build what I had intially drawn up. The more I sat and thought about it...

Hey sorry about never responding to you about my red truck, I haven't been able to spend much...

Hey sorry about never responding to you about my red truck, I haven't been able to spend much time on RDC lately. I just had a 3" leveling coil spacer in the front, no lift in the rear, and 31/75/16 tires at all four corners. The tires rubbed a bit at full lock on the links but not too bad at...

    Which Transaxle?

That is what I figured with the stock clutch idea, clutches are a lot cheaper to replace than whole transmissions.

    Introducing Project Frogger

Here are the drawings of the new chassis plus a couple with the suspension: As always please let me know if something can be done better!

    Introducing Project Frogger

The concept will still be the same and the suspension is basicly the same. The control arms have changed a fair amount to increase strength but the geometry is pretty much unchanged. The chassis is very differant, mostly to make it simpler and easier to build. I will try to post some new pics...

    Introducing Project Frogger

Whoa, long time no see on this thread. Well things finally fell into place and I am able to get back to work on this thing again. Had some room issues in my garage and now that it has been cleared up I have plenty of room! The chassis design has changed a lot and the suspension has been...

    Which Transaxle?

Haycock, Thanks for the info. The cost of going that way is a much easier pill to swallow. So a 4x4 trans is going to be the ticket then? I have a saginaw sm465 but I am not sure if I can make the shift linkage work on that trans. I would prefer to run a turbo 35/400 or a 700r4 but the...

    Which Transaxle?

Well, it sounds to me like the VW options are not very good ones and a Mendi or Weddle is going to completely blow my budget so I got to thinking, how much do you guys think running a standard transmission coupled to a 9" IRS diff would run? Obviously this would be a mid mounted motor setup as...
