Class 11 (being nerfed by a class 1). Seriously though, those are just smooth straight sections, and would be a good time to strech your fingers, wipe your visor, pour a cup of tea, or whatever.

24.5 to 25.4 has some really tight and twisty stuff in a shallow canyon (good overhead shots). 26.8 has a gnarly off-camber drop off (someone may roll). 31.6 to 32.9 is a fast 100+ MPH straight section. 33.8 to 34.2 has some good sandwash action. 36 to 39 is another fast 100+ MPH straight...

A GPS for this race is more of a convenience than anything. The course is well marked and worn in…well, except for the two new virgin sections from mile 1.5 to 1.9 and 6.6 to 9.3. These two sections have been additionally marked with orange ribbon but there are no berms yet at the turns...

I heard that's what they're working on. They are trying to propose a "safty revision" course change by avoiding Anderson Dry Lake, which caused a dust hazard last time and nearly white-out conditions.

Maybe we can mention class 11 to some of the contingency sponsers and see if they can put something together for those guys.

I think I saw four trucks running the Maxxis tires, an 8 truck and three 14 trucks. I didn't see any of them with flats. I think it was Beldon who said they worked good.

Rock crawling! Come on, it wasn't that bad. Sure there were a couple large rocks on or near the course, but Barstow has way more rocks than Ridgecrest. If anything, some of those whoops were DEEP. What I liked best was the Gas Line Road, the semi paved road leading into CK1, the sandwash...

Re: Fud is rolling over in his grave: I "heard" Reese was a "no-show" after the race. MDR needed Reese to dispute a protest but no one could find Reese. They had to carry on the protest without him.
