Well my friend, it is all about how much money you have and how much of the work you can do your self. Obviously the best is a custom Ford 9" or 10" rear end, but you will spend $7,000 to $25k. I would look for a good used one. problem with Chevy and Dodge rear ends is that most use C clips to hold the axles in place and that is no good for Off-Road. You can get a Dana 60 but they are heavy and if you have to pay someone to rebuild, add locker and truss. You would be better off buying a Ford 9". I assume you are on a budget. I would get a Ford 9" with spool and 35 spline axles from Currie geared at 5.00" Still will cost you around 5-6K but it will save you the headache and work for years to come.
