Talked to Rob MacCachran at contingency ( Primm) He told me Score's Baja 1000 will be one big loop, starting in Ensenada, doing the Baja 500 course for the first 150 miles then heading over to San Felipe, doing its course, then heading down to Mike's Sky Ranch, then following the course via Baja 500 back to Ensenada.

Thats the truth. they alternate running the big race every other year, and since last year was the 2000 mile race this year will be the short course. 2002 will be the race to la paz again.

This is strictly speculation and rumor but I heard that it's gonna be two laps around the 01 Baja 500 course... Anybody else heard this one ?

The race is going to climb the summit as well before going to San Felipe

2 Laps of the Baja 500 of this year would take a long time. McMillin finished the 500 this year in 11 and a half hours. Add darkness, more pitstops, driver's changes, it would probably be 23 hours to finish. The Baja 2000 took 32 hours for a winning time overall. So do the math 9 hours less but 700 to 800 miles shorter.
