Not sure when it was released, but it looks like the official calendar for the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies was finally released; long after the FIM calendars were. In any case, like it is with Dakar and the Africa Eco Race, the motorcycles (FIM) do share a few rounds with the cars/trucks (FIA), so yeah.

Also, while the FIA calendar has the rallies & bajas on the same calendar, the FIM still separates them.

Anywho, here is what we got...

FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies
FEB 19-22: Baja Russia - Northern Forest
APR 3-7: Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge
APR 12-22: Qatar Sealine Cross Country Rally
MAY 8-15: Rally of the Pharaohs
JUNE 23-26: Italian Baja
JULY 22-24: Baja Espana Aragon
AUG 11-14: Hungarian Baja
AUG 25-28: Baja Poland
OCT 1-8: Rally of Morocco
OCT 28-30: Baja Portalegre

FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship
APR 3-7: Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge
APR 12-22: Qatar Sealine Cross Country Rally
MAY 8-15: Rally of the Pharaohs
JUNE 2-7: Sardegna Rally Race
AUG/SEPT: 28-4: Atacama Rally
OCT 1-8: Rally of Morocco

FIM Bajas World Cup
JUNE 23-26: Italian Baja
JULY 22-24: Baja Espana Aragon
AUG 11-14: Hungarian Baja
SEPT 9-10: Baja TT de Idanha-a-Nova

Thanks for this. Its awesome and we sometimes forget how much offroad/rally-raid there is outside the US/Mexico....if a US competitor wants to really win they Dakar they should be running in these events or perhaps the South African Donaldson series. Would love to see Brabec run the FIM Baja series.

And there are several other international rallies of great importance.
You have the SilkWay rally, almost another Dakar this year with 15 days and 8500 km long rally

Then the Dakar Series:
Desafio Ruta 40 in Argentina
Desafio Guarani in Paraguay
and a Dakar Series in Africa thsi year, in Morocco

And several other like Sertoes rally in Brasil or International Rally in Africa just starting yesterday.

The Southafrican Championship is very comeptitive, but I think is much different to a Dakar in terms of navigation (forget this year Dakar, I am speaking of a regular Dakar) and type of roads.

You nailed it. In my opinion that is a requirement for a US guy that normally only races desert racing to compete in a few of those. The people that win Dakar do it at least.
