The two classes, for drivers 8 to 15 years old, will be on the schedule for the season-opening weekend at Lake Elsinore (California) Motorsports Park March 24-25, rounds 3 and 4 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona, April 22-23, and round 12 at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, California, September 16.
“We’re very excited about the Jr 1 and Jr 2 Karts as we head into the 2017 season,” series director Ritchie Lewis said. “The Jr 1 and Jr 2 drivers and families work very hard to provide quality racing for the LOORRS fans. They take their racing very seriously and do a great job representing their sponsors and Lucas Oil Products.
“We’re going to provide them with professional technical and officiating teams at each round. We have a new staff member to help us with that in Bill Smith, who has many years of experience within the Off Road and Short Course community. Bill and competition director Greg Foutz and Kart technical director Brian Axup will take the lead in helping the juniors and all our classes have a successful racing experience at each LOORRS event this year.”
