Teams don't want a rider that chooses to race only half the year when there are other riders capable of winning that will gladly do the full season.

Pros: More Racing!!
TV can schedule the commercials accordingly.
Fittest guys will prevail

Cons: LAPPERS!!! Guys can be getting lapped 2-3 times.

Malcolm has a good competitive bike to ride to start the season off. He also has many offers on the table. He could be creating a bidding war.
This would also be the first time in a long time that nobody got hurt and fill in riders were needed right away in SX.
He has beat many factory 450 riders, including last week overseas.

Malcolm will race and do well...and if he gets a better ride then it was well played. But either way, he has a good ride right now.

Timed races is exactly what needs to happen in SX.
There have been so many 10 minute races that were so disappointing. Now they just need to eliminate right hand first turns and keep the riders on the ground more and it will be racing.
Only con I see is its another nail in the coffin for MX.
MX thrives on the weaknesses of SX.
The more SX moves in the right direction, the better chance they have to push out MX.

Mike, stop being wrong.

Teams want him, he hasn't chosen or made official which team he wants.
SX only is very much "a thing" and has been for a while.
You can argue that he is not at the level or age to justify it but it is still a thing. Follow the money.
