Crazy qualifying course. Was a mess. Haha and I was a mess. Not very excited about our results. But it is what fun. Was the first time being in the truck since last years Silverstate. So I was green.

It’s tough with fresh dirt work. Unless you water it non stop, it gets silty and nasty real quick. Worse for you guys running towards the end after it was chewed up by the guys before. Better than no qualifying though I suppose and 600+ miles to sort it all out.

I couldn’t believe what the first parade lap did to track , that is a awesome 2 miles of qualifying course hope it stays around for a while .

Only issue of the day. Valerie Clark flopped her truck on its side. Luckily she was the last truck on course and Motorsports’s safety solutions guys got her on her wheels quick and she finished her lap!

We have had 3 Co drivers. All which have had 8 min plus tire changes. Would like to find someone that can change a tire in less than 4min with the drivers help. Not asking for much. Haha

last guy “was” fast but we found out he has not been to the gym since pre Covid. Hard to find experienced co drivers in good shape from Utah.

I do have high expectations and have lowered them tremendously. We can’t find a guy that will even study the course before race week. I would be OK with long tire changes if they were amazing navigators. But you can’t be weak at both.

Mike

8 minutes good lord, does that count strapping back in ? perhaps cracking a beer and reveling in the nice scenery at which to change a tire in?

Day 2! Lots of broken vehicles and people limping across the finish line yesterday. It was not an impound race so teams were able to stay up all night working on vehicles to make day two!

We had an interesting day yesterday. Sonic booms so loud from some military jets overhead it shook my truck and I thought I blew a tire.

Does anybody have a power steering unit for a Can Am X3 with smart lock? I’m at the comfort inn in Tonopah.

Who preps the Concrete Motorsports trucks.? Also, MTPyle.... what happened. had a good run going. Then the agonizing 30+ minute down time at final pit. Look forward to all the teams stories..

Short story. I will add more info later to a recap post.

day 1 truck was flawless. I caught the guy in front of us fast then got in his dust for 20 miles. Hit a rock at RM35 and he to change tire. Then bent a driveline that slowed us down and had to change in the pit. That cost about 15 min. Would have been in top 5 without that. Truck had zero issues, first time ever.

day 2 got mixed in with UTV’s as they started us in corrected time order. So stupid. Now we have to get thru 5 slower vehicles to catch up to the trucks. 3 of those we can’t nerf.

Connor ran strong and was up on the 5-6 on corrected but could not get around a UTV. Then after the mud pit we lost a coolant sensor which took us out of the race at the last pit. It’s hidden and not something we can change fast.

Not happy about the starting order or the UTV’s not moving with Push to pass. We were literally stuck behind them. That ended up causing some drama that I will get into later. Haha

overall the event was amazing, my only complaint was the day 2 starting order. Other than that it was one of the best ran races we have been to.
