Course needs to be changed in a bad way not sure why they always stick to the same exact course its Indian land not BLM. Run it backwards or something

It was posted on Facebook.
sigh... thanks. in my opinion organizations that post on FB are hit or miss, since the algorithm that sorts your newsfeed won't necessarily show you the post, even when following the group. I don't understand why they would post only on FB and not on their website... but maybe they did redact it. anyway, it's not there...

It was posted as a tentative schedule on Facebook to get some feedback from the racers. Seems like they are trying to give the racers what they want but haven't had any luck with Tribe/BLM that's why we still don't have a schedule yet

Crazy they still do not have an update. the event is weeks away.

Hard to deal with the Indians that really do not want you there anymore. 425 was fine with me last year hopefully it's the same this year

I hope so as only 3 Pro Turbo's entered as of today. What in the heck is going on as last year they had 35+++. Would be a big mistake to move the race to a new location this late in the game.

Well that’s more than signed up for Trucks. Right now it shows only Brenthel TT and 6100 signed up.

We will race for sure. There is a 20% chance the Brenthel 6100 will run out of gas and we can get our first podium. Haha.

There has to be something wrong with their sign up list or system. Isn’t this the last race of the year for points? I am sure there are many more trucks that will race it no matter where it is or the format.

I would expect a few more signing up but not a significant number. There have been so many events recently and with the 1K, Legacy, UTVWC and BAP right around the corner, there are just a lot of options right now. Good to have so many options for us to choose from but hurts car counts at the individual events.

Crazy.

We love Parker and that’s a bummer for sure. But always fun to race new places. Hopefully the course is fun and offers places to pass so it’s not a dust train on single track roads.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LAS VEGAS, NV (October 13, 2021): Best In The Desert, the world’s largest and richest off-road racing series has announced that its 2021 season-ending event, the BlueWater Desert Challenge Brought to You by Fox will be held at the Peralta Ranch in East Kern County, California near Cal City, moved from Parker, Arizona on Nov. 4-7, 2021. The event name will also be changed to Cal City Desert Challenge Brought to You by Fox.

After months of preparing to hold the event in Parker, Arizona, Best In The Desert was informed on October 9, 2021, that the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) would not allow the event to run as planned. The CRIT cited increased levels of COVID-19 amongst their community as a reason for their decision.

Despite the extremely disappointing news, Best In The Desert is very excited about the move to Cal City. Not only is the entire community behind the relocation of the event but Best In The Desert has access to over 80 acres of prime real estate to host an off-road race of epic proportions thanks to Lou Peralta and the Peralta Ranch.

The main pit, time trials course, and UTV Youth racecourse for the Cal City Desert Challenge Brought to You by Fox will be held approximately three miles from Cal City limits, an hour away from Barstow, while the main racecourse will run on private and county land.

The Time Trial course will be five to eight miles long and will set racers up for important start times. The UTV Youth course will be one to three miles long and will run in the same location as Time Trials and the Main Pit.

The main 30-mile course for the Cal City Desert Challenge Brought to You by Fox will start at a 2,500-foot elevation and consist of typical Mojave Desert terrain including the challenging decomposed granite dirt compound well-known to off-road racers in the region.

Registration, Tech Inspection, and Event Expo will be at a TBD location in Cal City and the host hotel will be the Best Western Hotel in Cal City. A racer discount code will be offered in the coming days and posted on the Best In The Desert website.

While we’ve certainly had to deal with some challenges getting to this point, the end result could not have been better,” commented Best In The Desert CMO Bryan Folks. “I have to start by thanking Lou Peralta for all his help and support in making this happen. The racecourse being built will be very challenging and a true Best In the Desert type race. We also look forward to being welcomed by Cal City. Altogether, we feel we have an event venue that will more than live up to the expectations of all our racers.”

“With season-ending points on the line and a year of hard work and effort by all our race teams there was no way we were going to let our racers down and not hold an event,” stated Jeff Phillips Best In The Desert Race Operations Director. “At the Peralta Ranch, we have all the ingredients to put on not only a great truck/car/UTV race but also an excellent Youth UTV race as well. All I can say is everybody get ready, this is going to be special.”

Best In The Desert CMO Bryan Folks and Race Operations Director Jeff Phillips will be hosting a Facebook Live Q & A to answer any and all questions regarding the upcoming changes on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 2 PM PST.

Not only are season-ending Best In the Desert Series Class Championships up for grabs but so are Maxxis Triple Crown Championship points, meaning that huge prize purses are available to participating racers.

Time trial and race schedules will be updated on the Cal City Desert Challenge event page by Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, and registration is open here until Oct. 31, 2021.

It is actually a pretty fun area with a good variety of stuff. Pretty good for spectating too. Close to the actual town of California City.
In fact I will be out there this weekend.

They say it’s a 30 mile course. That’s pretty good.

I will stay positive about it and expect it to be a good event. Wasn’t much they could do. Glad they came up with something.

Glad we have RV’s as there are not many hotels out there. Hopefully they have enough room to camp.
