On Topic A/C compressor storage

dezerts10

BANG!! BANG!!
I picked up a 1996 4x4 4Runner last week and it had been in an accident and the a/c condenser was damaged so it leaked all the Freon out. I want to pull the a/c compressor for the winter and store it. I think it's still good so I'm not going to junk it.

What's the best way to store it? I'm going to replace all the lines, condenser, etc when time allows this coming spring / summer. I just don't want to have to replace a good compressor.

I would put some stoppers of some sort in the holes where the lines connect to keep the dirt out and put it up on the shelf. Rags would work too, just make sure you keep the dirt out. Moisture is not good either, but you are in a pretty dry area, so that shouldn't be a big problem.
