A Trophy Truck / Stadium Truck hybrid for the short desert courses?

Australian TTs are smaller and lighter, Everything works on a scale, can't just put huge tires on something small. The gordini is pretty small, and runs good but not as good as a TT in the real big stuff.

Is that an SST?

It would be cool to see those doing desert races here in the states.
They raced Mike's hill climb. Robby in a SST beat Apdaly in his TT

SST would need a lot of modifications before they could enter a desert race.

He made it look like a Sunday drive. He left a lot on the table. He can definitely run it faster. Only saw him jerk the steering wheel twice the entire run. Very smooth. Local knowledge helps, but he is just faster at that type of stuff. He was super fast in GT/Road cars. Wonder how he would compare to a Rick Mears and AJ Unser? Those guys were both very good hill climbers in their day.

Nobody wants to build a separate truck for one race.

And fwiw... Laughlin, even though short, puts equal or maybe more duress on a race vehicle simply because you are 110% the entire time.

I wish Ford would come back and put a 800hp 3.5L V6 ecoboost in a truck.
We talked seriously about the Ecoboost in our truck. Talked to Ford and Whipple and the final response was if you push a eco boost you will break it. So its not really reliable enough for desert racing. Unless you keep it stock power, which what fun would that be? LOL

Merritt is doing well with his in 7200 but its mostly stock power.

Interesting. I believe they won the 24 hours of Daytona with one. Did they say why it won’t last in the desert?
