How can this family begin to explain the journey this courageous man has gone through this last year? The daily struggles and triumphs? The knowing and not knowing? .....The learning of living a different and new life?
It has been 1 year to date since Tony's accident......since all of our hearts stopped and dropped to the pits of our stomachs in fear of losing a son, a brother, a father, a soul mate and best friend.
As I have said before and will continue to say..... For a man that wasn't expected to make it past the first day of injury, Tony is going nowhere but forward! He has beaten so many odds and proven to be the most courageous man. Everyday he amazes us with his strength and whit. He continues to exceed any expectations with such force.
If you have had the privilege to know him before his accident...you know these are his traits. Yes...Tony is a quiet man that never wanted to be the focus of attention. Tony has always overflowed with respect, honor, integrity, and love for others. Racing has run deep in his blood for 30 years and continues to be in his heart today.
You cannot imagine how grateful we are to have Tony with us today! Thank you with all of our heart to those involved in saving Tony's life this day one year ago. We are in debt to you.....we would be lost without him. The love and vast support from everyone is much appreciated and is a tremendous pleasure. We are honored to call you friends.
Tony has come a long way....FAST, with only one year of recovery under his belt. Some call it luck....others call it faith. I say "That's our Tony.....always determined to be a proud son, a protective brother, an AWESOME father, a beautiful soul mate, a awsome best friend, and a gracious V1!
We love you good Tony!
