Anyone willing to give up top speeds for Unlimited buggies at Crandon??

I am looking to do Crandon in the Makita, Goodyear, K&N filters #973 Unlimited Buggy.

Anyone willing to give up the top straight away speeds we should try to achieve to be a contender for this event?

Bobby,

You could probably get in the ballpark based off some of the math from a Pro-Lite.

Using a 32" rear tire (really about 31.4"dia.), and an engine that see's ~9200RPM, you'd use somewhere between a 9.0 and 9.5 final drive ratio in high gear...:eek:

a quick web search shows me that super buggies run slightly slower lap times than a pro-2. (roughly 5 seconds) a front running pro-2 will be going 90-100mph into turn one. is it reasonable to assume a super buggy will be going the same speed or a little slower in turn one because they can get through the tighter turns faster than a 4000lb truck?
