It looks like the Rodeo wild fire is burning where the Snowflake race is usually held. Looks like the Whip race in Sept might not have a track to race on. Has anybody heard from Whiplash about this??

I live here in Phoenix and the smoke clouds can be seen from here. There was a lady that was in a closed portion of the forest near the fire and got lost and to be found she lit another fire that is around 3 or 4000 acres and the Rodeo fire is over 90,000 acres. The forests are a real mess and most of the town of showlow is on an evacuation notice with a one hour bumper, so when they hear the word they get 1hr to get out. I think around 25,000 are on that notice right now. They arent even thinking of a containment % yet they are more worried about the fire fighters and with some winds of 50+ mph winds near the fire they are just staying safe. There might not be a Snowflake town if this thing is to crazy. Hope it gets contained soon. Bryan

The Rodeo fire jumped 260 yesterday and was only like 10 miles south of the pipeline (which is the southern most piece of the Snowflake track) so it is looking pretty bad.

Latest report is that possibly in three days the 2 fires could combine and if that happens it would be 300,000 acres and a 100 miles perimeter around the fire. They said that this fire to get to the size of the Colorado fire only took two days when Colorado took 2 weeks. They say it is 0% contained.
Latest update the Chediski fire is 15,000 acres and the Rodeo fire is 125,000 acres and still 0% contained
