Jim is working on putting together sort of a Pro 1400 race at the Chili Cook Off in Lucerne Valley Sept 12, 2009.
The entry fee for this race will be 350, same as the pro classes. 1400 will get to race all the laps and will have a starting order closer to the front of the field.
Jim is working on getting sponsors for this to add to the prize money. He is also adding 100 dollar bonus per every truck that enters, plus extra bonus if entry list reaches over 10 entrees. I have been talking to Jim about this for a month now and here are some numbers he has come up with so far
Payback would be $150.00 plus the $100.00 bonus
If 10 trucks show would put up another $250.00
---20----------------------------------$500.00

So with 15 trucks showing up total money would be

$1500.00 bonus
-$250.00 extra bonus
$2250.00 Pay back
=$4000.00 for 15 trucks divided betweem first 3 finishers.

Total for 20 trucks would be

=$6000.00 for 20 trucks

I will keep you guys up to date on how things progress with sponsors

Could you clarify what the rules are for the 1400 class for MORE. Is it an unlimited mini truck class like BITD/SNORE 7 unlimited? Do you have to have working doors? I saw a thread here recently where there was a protest to a truck in the last MORE race. I'm not trying to stir the pot, just trying to figure out if our Class 3000 "buck" can enter.:)

I have the same question. If we can run a fiberglass body, i would be willing to sign up and race my TL.

Thanks guys, I have to give the credit to Jim@MORE, he is the one that came up with the idea a couple months ago and approached me about ideas.
As far as the rules, truck must retain most of it's factory frame, steel cab with functioning doors. MORE splits the trucks up via suspension. 1400 trucks are 4 link and 1450 is leaf springs.
If your vehicle does not meet all the rules the class can vote to let you race the class or not. We have let some 7 open trucks race the class last year that had fiberglass cabs. I was not at the last race when the protest happened so I can not comment on that one. What I am thinking is having myself and a couple longtime MORE 1400 racers at tech so if someone would like to race their truck, we can take a vote right then and there so there is no argument after the race, what do you guys think? For me, the more the merrier.

Sounds good but I'm guessing the TLs are much closer to the rules (front engine & 4 link) than we are (rear engine & transaxle).
