Not sure if this would be considered a barn find or vintage. But I was fortunate enough to purchase this 2006 KTM 450 EXC last year from Chili White, the bike was originally owned by Ron Bishop. Zero hour, never been started, and nearly a museum piece. Bike has served me well as my prerunner/practice bike

There's an older 1600 car in Crestline on FBM with a listing title of: "1970 Classic Baja baja" (if the link doesn't work). It's not a 70's era but definitely a previous generation and would be a good start for a Norra car...

Anyone know where both Klawitters class 5 cars went? Or the John Cooley / Marty Hart class 5 car went?

Klawitters still own it
Maybe with Wolfram’s passing is why those pictures were taken. I’d assume that’s Wolframs garage. I think he lived in Riverside with Hartmut living in the Ramona area. I hope something good happens with the car and it’s restored and kept just as we see it in that garage.

I think it was the 1988 Baja 1000 where Hartmut raced the car in the picture and smoked the class, with Wolfram in the old Jimco 5 car, turned prerunner finishing in second place. I worked at Fibertech and sold parts to the Klawitters, and I helped prep and sometimes go to the races with Marty Hart.

That car was just posted as it sits like that by Matt Parsons. I think the older car was in the hands of one of the grandsons and he was talking about updating it to race it. We will see what happens.

Loving this thread. Building some sort of rail that could do the baja, as built, back when. Now wondering if I'll luck into an actual vintage race driven vehicle. Some of the old ones on here are more than enough for trail running.

AnywayI have an old engine, came as a twofer during a vintage gladiator resto.

So what I need is help.

Anyone know of anything, picture, napkin drawing, parts list, for the Chuchua built Tornado 230 OHC?

Not sure if it raced, but it was the best version of the engine, american southwest, baja style. I'm gonna tribute it.

Heres what I'm after

That engine photo is in a Jeep that was set up for the drag strip. It was a CJ6. I kind of remember seeing it run side draft Webers and at one time injectors. I think it had a B&M Hydrostick. It ran at Carlsbad regularly, but probably all the other strips that were open in the mid to late 1960s. This was 50 years ago so please don't quote me.

I need some help on a Chenowth odd ball. Mid engine Corvair built late 70’s. Chicago area. I’m considering purchasing. Would the W in the model # indicate it’s factory welded,or just 100” wb.
