Man Arrested After Killing Motorcyclist And Fleeing

BARSTOW, Calif. DEC 3rd (VVNG): A hit-and-run driver left an off-road motorcyclist dead but was later arrested after calling a tow company for his truck.
On December 3rd at 3:17 p.m. Aaron Keith Wilder, a 51-year-old Riverside resident, was out riding his dirt bike along a dry wash in the off-highway vehicle area one mile west of Barstow Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, a black desert racing truck struck the bike and dragged the rider before fleeing the scene.
Emergency personnel arrived and pronounced Wilder dead from his injuries at 3:38 p.m. Authorities immediately conducted an extensive search for the involved vehicle.
At approximately 4:50 p.m. a tow company received a call for service at Love’s Truck stop on Lenwood Road. When the tow company arrived, they located a black Toyota Tundra, missing the hood along with front end damage.
The tow company contacted Barstow Police to report the suspicious truck after the Tundra owner was not able to pay for the towing services.
Police arrived on scene and searched the vehicle and subsequently impounded the truck for evidence.
The driver was arrested and taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol.
