Beat the Baja

A great documentary from 1987 surrounding the Baja 1000. I found this in my local video store in 1987 and watched it over and over again. If you've never seen it you're in for a real treat! Some of the footage in this film is also from the 1986 Budweiser 250 in Barstow. I believe SCORE/HDRA held that race after the '86 Baja 1000 to help decide the tight points race for that year. You can tell which clips are from that race by the wet race course you see in the video.

Sure!..That's another one of my all time favorite trucks!..Paint scheme is still awesome today..I always wondered if that picture was in studio, or was he really out in the desert?...I'm pretty sure those saguaro cactus in the background aren't natural..lol

Here's some pics from the '86 Budweiser 250 that you see clips of in the video. That was the second desert race i went to. We were in the same area as the camera man who shot the footage you see in this video. I remember seeing the set up he had with a huge camera on a big tri-pod. That's how i recognized those clips as being from that particular race.
