belt mounting question

rulebook says...

all belts must be mounted directly to a main structure member of the
same specification as the roll cage and with gussets.

rule book specs 2" tube for my build so that means the belts have to be
mounted to 2" tube or am i missing something....

Thats what I am under the impression of, and our trucks our both built out of 1 3/4 and we had to have the belts to 1 3/4 tubing.....

On a side note DirtSports has some good articles about how belted should be properly mounted, meaning having the belts come straight off the tube they are mounted to and over the driver/riders shoulders, instead of being mounted low and coming up and over the driver/riders shoulders. Dirtsports does a good job of explaining it, much better then I just did....

BUT in response to your question yes if the main structure of the cage is 2" then the belts need to be mounted to a 2" tubing....
