Bill Krug went home to be with his Lord & Savior on the morning of December 14, 2017. He was 89 years young when he passed away. He was a long time racer, over 65 years. His last race was in Scotts class 12 car out in Plaster City at 80 years old with his wonderful wife Linda navigating the way. At 75, he won the class 1600 championship. Bill had over 100 wins, countless podiums.
Bill was inducted into the Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2008.
Bill Krug hooked up with Wayne Weiler who introduced him to Full House Jalopies in 1952. Bill traveled with Wayne and the Joe Pittman Ferguson powered midget. He was also with Wayne in his rookie season at Indy. He owned cars and later decided to become a driver in off road racing. He won the final Race Against Polio at Manzy. He and his wife raced for 16 years and won 12 championships in class and four overall championships.
His Memorial & Celebration of life will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at noon at The Shrine Auditorium
552 N. 40th street in Phoenix, AZ.
He hated to dress up so come casual and he loved color so lets brighten up the room!!
There will be a cash bar and a light buffet to follow at the same location.
All are welcome to speak

Bill was always approachable, kind and generous with information or help at the races. He was one of those guys that everyone new and laughed with before and after the actual race - a true ambassador to the sport!

Hope to see many of the racers this Friday his life touched in the dusty desert! And a huge hug for Bill's wife Linda who was always part the Krug equation. Godspeed Bill, you will be missed greatly...

He was also a longtime and very successful sprint car owner. Thankfull that my boys got to meet him at the BITD Laughlin race last year. Whole lot of respect for the man.
